my sweet, but very sick husband left me this little treat on my phone. I laughed for a good long time, followed by a hacking cough. I think he has invented a new art form, finger bums.

Holiday Inn

I recently spent a few days at Utah's most exclusive health spa recuperating from a bad cold. It was wonderful. I had my own room with luxurious linens, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and complete room service with staff at my beck and call. I was brought tea and cocoa, freshly baked gingerbread, and an assortment of delicious meals that included homemade chicken noodle soup.

Once, when I got up to boil in the tub (very good for the respiratory  system) I returned to find my bed re-made and pillows fluffed.

these really resonate with me because my small vocabulary limits me to words like 'cute.' the japanese can do cute like no other nation, maybe it's the raw fish.

If only.

Someday I will invent something awesome. I just recently painted my fingernails and cursed more than once. Why didn't I think of this?

I've got the itch to make:

gingerbreads houses (or maybe even just a little graham house)

cards

and maybe some soaps for little gifts

the soap is actually really easy. martha gets all of her stuff from thesage.com in logan.

I haven't ordered from them, but their site is very helpful. martha does the melt and pour glycerin soap. I actually did the real thing with fat and lye last summer. Nothing blew up, and the soap turned out really good, except I scented it with lavender essential oil, and by the time I was done cooking and cutting the soap I never wanted to smell lavender again.

There's a good chance we won't be decking our halls this year, since the kitchen redo has expanded to include floor redo for the entire house,  post your holiday decor so I can live vicariously through you!
