the sun came out

it was a beautiful day in Orem. the sun shone and skies were blue. we rolled the windows down and turned the stereo up.

things that made me sad today:

seeing so many business closing up-signs removed, blinds drawn

my nephews little coughs and sick eyes

dropping my iPhone in the mud while picking up beer bottles in the parking lot (photography isn't all glamour)

things that made me happy today:

seeing a few new business signs going up. that our sign is still up.

mint and parsley growing in the garden, I couldn't believe it! they will be in my bowl tonight

warm sun on my face, even if it was just from the car to the studio

finding a new cookbook at the library 'vegetarian cooking for everyone' by Deborah Madison

yeah! I can finally post about these cute images! Modbe had their swim launch event on Saturday. We went to the fashion show and saw our cute girls strut their stuff. Modbe has seriously cute swim suits this year.

what would you do if you knew you could not fail

OR, what if you tried your best, and you still made a lot of mistakes?

Sometimes we mess up. And when I say 'we' I mean me. Sometimes having your own business just breaks your heart and I guess I had a moment like that today. So if you, like me, want to cry a little bit right now, take two of these and call me in the morning...

on the upside, I got to fondle lots of expensive jewelry today for some photos. I'll post them soon. And i got to cuddle baby b, and my sweater smelled like him all day. sigh.

Wal I'll be.

I did something new. I did my grocery shopping at Wal-Mart last night. My previous Wal-Mart excursions have been rather limited to include emergency trips for weird items on Sundays and trips made against my will. But last night it was all me. I keep seeing that commercial about how much a family can save over a year, so I decided to try it.

It is so much cheaper! Milk was $1.88. That's over a dollar less than my regular grocer's store brand. I got a whole cartload of stuff for sixty dollars. Everything is a lot less. Bell peppers = 50 cents! Amazing. 

Not amazing: it seemed REALLY dirty to me. It was bordering on gross. Like the milk case was smelly and all the milks had milk on them, like one blew up. They do not carry any of the brands I like (Kashi, or the good flour). There is nothing organic. I had to stand at the eggs for a few minutes to be able to pick up regular eggs. It was hard, but I did it, and they seem okay. 

I know this seems spoiled. It's something I'm working on.

ahhh...so cute. I have the most adorable nephews. Here's #2 at 4 months (photo by us). It should be noted this was the first time I have ever seen him with his hair laying down. It usually sticks straight up. All of it.
